Roster Moves Announced at Canada's National Junior Team Selection Camp

CALGARY, Alta. – Hockey Canada, in partnership with the Canadian Hockey League (CHL), announced Wednesday five players have been released from Canada’s National Junior Team selection camp and will be immediately returning to their respective club teams.

PLAYERS RELEASED FROM CANADA’S NATIONAL JUNIOR TEAM SELECTION CAMP (12/12/2012)

  • Francis Beauvillier – F (Sorel-Tracy, Que./Rimouski, QMJHL)
  • Tyler Graovac – F (Brampton, Ont./Ottawa, OHL)
  • Sean Monahan – F (Brampton, Ont./Ottawa, OHL)
  • Adam Pelech – D (Toronto, Ont./Erie, OHL)
  • Derrick Pouliot – D (Weyburn, Sask./Portland, WHL)

Thirty-one players remain in camp, including four goaltenders, 10 defencemen and 17 forwards. These players are vying for 23 roster spots on Canada’s National Junior Team at the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship. Canada’s roster announcement is planned for the evening of Dec. 13. All countries participating in the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship must submit their official roster on Dec. 25.

Canada’s National Junior Team selection camp runs at the Markin MacPhail Centre at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary through Dec. 13, with the team remaining in Calgary through Dec. 15 when it leaves for Europe. For a camp schedule, please visit www.hockeycanada.ca.

GAME TICKETS

Tickets are available for the final game at Canada’s National Junior Team selection camp, with a select team from camp facing a team from Canadian Interuniversity Sport, starting at noon MT at the Markin MacPhail Centre at Canada Olympic Park. Fans can get tickets to the game one of three ways:

  1. Show your Club Hockey Canada card;
  2. Bring a canned food item for donation;
  3. Pay $5 at the door, which goes to the Hockey Canada Foundation to promote and foster accessibility to the game of hockey.
