OTTAWA – With less than 13 months remaining for Ottawa to welcome the world’s best junior hockey players, the host organizing committee for the 2009 IIHF World Junior Championship announced today that ticket packages for the event will go on sale to the public for a limited time, beginning Saturday, Nov. 17, at noon.

The 2009 world juniors, to be held in Ottawa from Dec., to Jan., has already sold close to 10,000 ticket packages, representing 275,000 tickets. The host organizing committee is projecting to sell more than 400,000 tickets for the 10-day, 31-game championship. Scotiabank Place, the home of the Ottawa Senators, will feature 17 games. Another 14 will be played at the Ottawa Civic Centre, home of the Ottawa 67’s.

The bronze 17-game package is available at $750 per seat in the upper bowl at Scotiabank Place. Fewer than 500 gold and silver packages are still available, with gold packages priced at $1,150 per seat for 31 games in the lower level at Scotiabank Place and at the Civic Centre. The silver package for 31 games is $850 per seat in the upper bowl. All ticket packages include seats for every Team Canada game and all playoff and medal-round games.
