Team Canada Set for Training Camp in Dauphin, Manitoba, in Preparation for 2007 IIHF World Championship in Winnipeg and Selkirk

Canada’s National Women’s Team will be holding a pre-competition camp in Dauphin, Manitoba from March 24-31, preparing for the upcoming 2007 IIHF World Women’s Championship in Winnipeg and Selkirk, MB, which begins on April 3rd.

Team Canada’s staff will be arriving the morning of Friday, March 23rd at Winnipeg Airport and departing immediately afterwards for Dauphin. The players will be arriving on Saturday, March 24th.

TEAM CANADA PRE-COMPETITION CAMP DETAILS (DAUPHIN, MB)
Canada’s National Women’s Team will convene in Dauphin, Manitoba for a pre-competition training camp from March 25-31, 2007, which will include on-ice and off-ice sessions and two games against Midget AAA boys teams from the Manitoba Midget AAA Hockey League. All practices in Dauphin will be open to the public free of charge, while admission to both games in Dauphin will be $5. Canada will also be taking on Finland on March 31st in Selkirk prior to the World Championship, which begins on April 3rd.

There will be a public autograph session on Sunday, March 25th at 12:00 (local time) at the Dauphin Credit Union Place.  

Players will be available for media interviews after practices and games during the pre-competition camp as well as during the World Championship.

Canada will open the 2007 IIHF World Women’s Championship on Tuesday, April 3rd against Switzerland.
