2006 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge Schedule Announced Tickets Go on Sale September 8th

CALGARY – Hockey Canada announced on Wednesday the final schedule for the 2006 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge that will take place – in Regina, SK.  The tournament will kick off with Team Pacific taking on Team Finland on December 29th at 3:00pm local time while the Opening Ceremonies are scheduled for 7:00pm local time.   

“The Under 17 program is a cornerstone for Hockey Canada’s Program of Excellence,” said Bob Nicholson, President of Hockey Canada.  “It is the first time that players in our country get to put on the Canadian jersey and compete against international teams.  The invaluable experience gained by these young men will help them as many will go on to represent Canada at the Under-18s, World Juniors and other international events.”

“This event will showcase the inaugural step towards representing this country in international competition and show what can be accomplished by hard work and dedication” said Al Hubbs, President of the Saskatchewan Hockey Association.  “This event’s legacy will be to help sustain and promote the future of this great game for the present and future members of the SHA.”

Ticket packages for the 2006 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge will go on sale beginning September 8th, 2005.  Fourteen games, including the gold and bronze medal games will take place at the Brandt Centre in Regina, SK.  The communities of Moose Jaw, Balgonie, Fort Qu’Appelle, Indian Head, Southey, Milestone and Weyburn will also host satellite games throughout the event.  Tickets are available at the Brandt Centre Box Office or by telephone at 1-888-734-3975.  Ticket packages are as follows:

Adult Packages

Student/Senior Packages

Until October 15            $90
After October 15            $115

Single Game Tickets

Adult (regular game)            $12
Adult (medal game)            $15
Student/Senior (regular game)            $9
Student/Senior (medal game)            $10

These prices are in effect for Brandt Centre games only.  Tickets for games held in the satellite communities of Moose Jaw, Fort Qu’Appelle, Balgonie, Indian Head, Southey, Milestone and Weyburn will be available through each respective community.
