Hockey Candidates Finalists for Seven Awards at The 2002 Canadian Sport Awards

The Spirit of Sport Foundation (SSF) officially announced its list of finalists for the 30th Annual Canadian Sport Awards (CSA) at a news conference held in Toronto. Three finalists were named for each category.

The CSA consists of five award categories - Athletic Performance, Leadership in Sport, Corporate Excellence, Spirit of Sport Story of the Year, and Spirit of Sport Inspired Youth Award.

The list of finalists has CHA teams, individuals and premier sponsors up for a total of seven Canadian Sport Awards. The Men's and Women's Olympic Hockey teams, Team Canada 2002 Executive Director Wayne Gretzky, National Women's Team Head Coach Danièle Sauvageau, CHA board president Sheldon Lanchbery, the Canadian Hockey Association, CHA premier sponsor Imperial Oil and CHA Associate Gold sponsor Molson are all finalists for the 2002 Canadian Sport Awards.

The CSA Gala will take place in downtown Toronto on .

Established in 1972, the Canadian Sport Awards are Canada's premier recognition event for sporting excellence.

BDO lance le programme Des buts pour les jeunes
Dans le cadre du programme Des buts pour les jeunes avec BDO, 100 $ seront versés aux associations de hockey mineur du pays pour chaque but marqué par Équipe Canada aux événements internationaux dont Hockey Canada est l’hôte et 50 $ seront donnés pour chaque but marqué à trois championnats nationaux – la Coupe Esso, la Coupe TELUS et la Coupe RBC.
