ALBERTA BESTS QUEBEC IN FIFTH-PLACE GAME AT NATIONAL U18s

Team Alberta secured fifth place in the overall championship standings with a 4-1 win over the host team, Quebec, led by offence from Kassy Betinol (Okotoks, Alta./Okanagan Hockey Academy, CSSHL), who scored one and assisted on another, and Nicole Fry (Calgary/Rocky Mountain, AFHL), who recorded two assists.

Danielle Serdachny (Edmonton/Pursuit of Excellence, CSSHL) opened up the scoring on a power play at 6:38 of the first period, and Ontario Red went on to score three more unanswered goals before Rosalie Demers (Blainville, Que./Stanstead College, CAHS) put Quebec on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal.

Final shots on goal were 36-25 in favour of Team Alberta.
