Twelve up-and-coming young officials from the Lower Mainland had an opportunity to experience a game day at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, on and off the ice.

Sixty-six players will wear black, red or white at the 2022 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in British Columbia.
Thirty-six referees and linespersons have been selected for upcoming tournaments in B.C., Ontario and Nova Scotia.
The World Under-17 Hockey Challenge opens Nov. 3 in Langley and Delta with an all-Canadian matchup on Day 1.
The next generation will enter the Program of Excellence this summer at Canada’s national under-17 development camp.
Julien will lead Canada at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, while O’Leary, Richardson and Walters will oversee the U17 teams.
Hockey Canada has unveiled the host communities for six national and international events, from B.C. to Nova Scotia.
