  • Won a Memorial Cup as minority owner of the Vancouver Giants in 2007
  • Won a Memorial Cup with the Edmonton Oil Kings in 1963
  • Named head coach of the Edmonton Oilers for the 2009-10 season
  • Served as chairman of the Hockey Hall of Fame from August 2013 until his passing
