TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – MONCTON FLYERS
For the second year in a row the Flyers finished the regular season comfortably atop the N.B./P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League, with an 11-point spread between themselves and second-place Saint John. The defending Atlantic Region champion, Moncton used the same M.O. to grab hold of first place as it did one year ago - a smothering defence. The Flyers allowed only 87 goals, 36 less than Fredericton, which had the second-best mark. Not surprisingly, it was a Moncton netminder who sat atop most of the NBPEIMMHL’s goaltending categories; Alex Collette had 18 wins, a 1.73 goals-against average, .940 save percentage and two shutouts, all first-place numbers. On the offensive end, Moncton finished tied with Saint John for the league lead in goals with 158, and Flyers forward Alex Bradley won the scoring race with 34 goals and 68 points, 13 clear of teammate Joey Richard, who finished second.
