TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – RED DEER REBELS
The defending league champions earned their second straight South Division regular season title and finished atop the Alberta Midget Hockey League standings (they finished tied in points with the Calgary Flames, but took spot with more wins) for the first time since 2006-07, the year they hosted the TELUS Cup and took silver at the national championship. One of just four teams to allow less than 100 goals, the Rebels were paced by the one-two combination of goaltenders Brenden Mandrusiak and Tanner Jaillet, who both finished in the top 10 in goals against average. Red Deer led the South Division in goals, racking up 162, but had just one player finish in the top 10 in scoring – Connor Hartley’s 43 points were good for a tie for ninth.
