2008 IIHF World Championship Pre-Tournament Games to be Webcast on TELUS.com and HockeyCanada.ca

CALGARY, AB – Hockey Canada, in partnership with premier marketing partner TELUS, has announced that Canada’s two exhibition games in Quebec City at Le Colisée prior to the start of the IIHF World Championship, will be shown live on webcast exclusively to Hockey Canada Insiders.

This offer is exclusive to current and new Hockey Canada Insiders, who will receive a password via e-mail prior to the two exhibition games.

Canada’s National Men’s Team will play two exhibition games during its pre-worlds camp in Quebec City. On Saturday, April 26th, Canada faces Finland and, on Monday, April 28th, Canada takes on Russia. Both games start at 7 p.m. EST/4 p.m. PST and will be played at Le Colisée. Hockey Canada and TELUS have partnered to offer webcasts of various events this hockey season, including the Esso Women’s Nationals, the TELUS Cup and the RBC Cup. Providing coverage of the IIHF World Championship exhibition games is a major addition to this online programming.

The 2008 IIHF World Championship will be held in Halifax, NS and Quebec City, QC, between May 2nd and 18th. This is the first time the event will be held in Canada and it will occur during the IIHF’s 100th anniversary. Tickets are still available for games in both markets.
