IIHF World Youth Tournament Begins Thursday in Quebec City
Hockey Canada, in partnership with the International Ice Hockey Federation, is proud to host the first IIHF World Youth Tournament as part of the 2008 IIHF World Championship in Quebec City, May 1st to 4th. This tournament marks the first time that a minor hockey event has been held in conjunction with the IIHF World Championship.
There will be 38 Peewee and Bantam teams in both girls and boys categories competing in this year’s event. IIHF World Youth Tournament games will be played in three arenas throughout Quebec City. For fans at home that would like to keep up to date with their local team, please go to www.hockeycanada.ca/worldyouth/en for real-time results.
All 80 tournament games will be updated on this site, including each division’s championship game on Sunday, May 4th.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the IIHF and the first time that the IIHF World Championship has ever been held in Canada.
