Forward Chris Terry Unable to Attend National Summer Under-18 Team Selection Camp Due to Injury; Marc-Andre Laroche Added to Selection Camp Roster
CALGARY, AB – Hockey Canada, in collaboration with the Canadian Hockey League, announced on Thursday that forward Chris Terry (Brampton, ON/ Plymouth, OHL) will not be able to attend the National Summer Under-18 Team Selection Camp in July in Calgary due to an injury.
Hockey Canada announced that in his place forward Marc-André Laroche (Arthabaska, QC/ Rimouski, QMJHL) has been added to the Selection Camp roster.
Canada’s 2006 National Summer Under-18 Team Selection Camp will take place July 28- in Calgary, AB. The 44 players at camp will all be vying for one of twenty-two spots on Canada’s 2006 National Summer Under-18 Team which will take part in the Under-18 Junior World Cup from August 8-12, in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
The National Summer Under-18 Selection Camp will be under the direction of Head Coach Cory Clouston (Viking, AB/ Kootenay, WHL) and assistant coaches Dave Hunchak (Warman, SK/Swift Current, WHL) and Jeff Truitt (Rosetown, SK/ Kelowna, WHL), who will select the final roster on August 2nd, prior to Team Canada departing for Europe on August 3rd.
All the players invited to the July 2006 National Summer Under-18 Team Selection Camp were identified, evaluated and selected based on evaluation reports conducted during the 2005-06 season by Regional Under-17 team coaching staffs, performances on Under-17 and Under-18 teams at 2005-06 events, with input from the coaches on Canada’s 2006-07 National Junior and National Under-18 teams and a network of Canadian Hockey League contacts as identified by the National Junior Team Policy Committee.
