KITCHENER, ON -- Hockey Canada and the Canadian Hockey League announced on Saturday morning that defenseman Bruno Gervais (Bathurst, QMJHL) has been returned to his junior team due to an injury during Friday’s National Junior team inter-squad game.

Gervais suffered a knee injury during Friday’s game and will be unable to continue to try out and participate for Canada’s 2004 National Junior team. The exact extent of his injury will be re-evaluated in a few days upon his return to Bathurst.

With the injury of Gervais, Canada’s selection camp roster now stands at 35 players (5 goaltenders, 11 defensemen and 19 forwards).

Team Canada is hosting its 2004 selection camp in Kitchener, ON, which runs until Thursday, Dec. 18. Canada’s coaching staff will make player releases beginning tomorrow morning (Sunday), with the final roster of 22 players to be named on Tuesday morning, December 16.

Canada’s selection camp will feature a second Red/White inter-squad game on Saturday evening at 6pm ET at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium, and two exhibition games versus the Ontario University All-Stars
