Call for Applications for 2003-2004 Coaching and Support Staff Positions on National Men's Junior and Under 18 Teams

CALGARY, ALBERTA – The Canadian Hockey Association’s Program of Excellence is calling for applications for coaching and support staff positions on Canada’s National Men’s Junior and Under 18 Team in 2003-2004, the CHA announced on Friday.

Applications with details and qualifications information are available in English and in French at www.canadianhockey.ca The deadline for submitting applications for these positions is .

Applications for positions with Canada’s National Women’s Senior and Under 22 Programs in 2003-2004 will be available in April 2003.

The National Junior Team Program and the National Under 18 Program are key components of the Program of Excellence, a program founded in 1982 to enable the CHA, in collaboration with the CHA’s thirteen member branches, to identify and train our most gifted young hockey players, to encourage and motivate them to play for Canada and to provide them with the opportunities to measure and refine their skills against top caliber international competition. The Men’s POE consists of the Regional Under 17 Teams, the National Under 18 Teams, the National Junior Team and the National Men’s Teams.

The National Junior Team Program consists of three camps and the World Junior Hockey Championship. The Development Camp will be in Calgary, AB in August 2003. A Selection Camp will be held in Toronto, ON in December 2003, followed by the Pre-competition Camp in Europe and the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship in Helsinki and Hameenlina, Finland, from to .
