TSN Hits The Ice for Comprehensive Coverage of 2003 IIHF WJHC

TORONTO - TSN's annual World Junior holiday tradition hits the ice from December 26 - January 5 with comprehensive coverage of the 2003 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship from Nova Scotia. TSN will televise all of Team Canada's games as well as the quarter-finals, semifinals and gold medal game. TSN's Gord Miller will call the play-by-play action alongside colour commentator Pierre McGuire. Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie will also be on site as an analyst with host Gino Reda and reporter Paul Hollingsworth.

Thursday, Dec. 26 CAN vs SWE 7 p.m. (encore on Thursday, Dec. 26 at midnight)
Saturday, Dec. 28 CAN vs CZE 2 p.m. (pre-game at 1:30 p.m.; encore on Saturday, Dec. 28 at midnight)
Sunday, Dec. 29 CAN vs GER 3 p.m. (pre-game at 2:30 p.m.; encore on Monday, Dec. 30 at 12:30 a.m.)
Tuesday, Dec. 31 CAN vs FIN 7 p.m. (encore on Wednesday, Jan. 1 at 3:30 a.m.)
Thursday, Jan. 2 Quarter-final 7p.m. (encore on Friday, Jan. 3 at 3:30 a.m.)
Friday, Jan. 3 Semifinal 7 p.m. (encore on Saturday, Jan. 4 at 4 p.m.)

Should Canada appear in the Bronze Medal game, TSN will televise the Bronze Medal game in its entirety

In addition, TSN will televise the 2003 World Junior Hockey Championship Preview Show on Wednesday, Dec. 25 at 8 p.m. ET. The informative two-hour program will provide viewers with all of the latest details regarding the annual tournament, including in-depth features and exclusive interviews.

TSN's flagship news program, SportsCentre, will continue to file daily reports from Team Canada's selection camp and all throughout the tournament, including on-site analysis from its team of experts.
TSN's experienced hockey production crew will be providing the World Juniors feed to five countries: Canada, Russia, Finland, Czech Republic and the United States.

TSN has been broadcasting the World Juniors since 1991. The tournament's appeal as a viewer's favourite was evident in 1999 with the Canada-Russia gold medal game from Winnipeg, as it became the single most-watched program in TSN history with 1.8 million viewers.

TSN.ca is hosting a World Juniors page at www.tsn.ca/world_jrs, featuring exclusive daily reports from columnist Alex J. Walling. The World Juniors feature page will also include one-on-one interviews with players and coaches, a photo gallery, SportsCentre video reports, updated scores, standings, schedules and statistics, and a history of the World Junior tournament where fans are able to relive memorable moments. Fans can also play out the tournament on-line with TSN.ca's World Junior Fantasy game by predicting the outcome of the tournament.

ESPN Classic Canada complements TSN's extensive 2003 World Junior Championship coverage with Classic World Junior Week from December 16 – 22.

Throughout the week, ESPN Classic Canada takes viewers back to some of Canadian junior hockey's most memorable games over the past 20 years. Hosted by TSN's Vic Rauter and Gord Miller, the week-long special also includes exclusive interviews with a variety of former Canadian junior players who made their mark in the annual tournament, including Wendel Clark, Mark Recchi and Ken Hitchcock.
