2004 National U18 Club Championship

QUEBEC 5 WEST 4 (OT)

April 20, 2004
Kenora, ON

In what will wildly be considered one of the best games in the tournament, Quebec edged out Brandon 5-4 in overtime. This was Brandon's second heart break of the tournament as they lost their first game 6-5 in overtime to Red Deer. After a scoreless first period, Quebec scored a short handed goal and a power-play goal to give them a 2-1 lead heading into the final frame. This turned out to be the best period of hockey so far at the tournament. Brandon tied the game up at 2-2 with a power-play goal 2 minutes into the third. Team Quebec scored a go ahead goal with just over 4 minutes left in the game, and looked to have cinched things up. Brandon replied with a goal forty seconds later to tie things up at 3-3. Quebec scored another go ahead goal with two and half minutes remaining, with a goal that looked like the winner. But Brandon would not go away as they scored a short handed goal with 1:10 left on the clock to tie things at 4-4. After Quebec had killed off a penalty in overtime, they final put the game away with a goal by Simon Marcotte three minutes into overtime to win 5-4.
