Antigonish, NS plays host to its only WJC game tonight as Belarus plays Germany in the final exhibition contest for both nations.

Germany comes into tonight’s game after falling to Sweden by a 5-2 score last night at the Halifax Metro Centre. Goaltender David Ehelechner was the story for the German side as he stopped 31 of 35 shots including many spectacular glove saves. The Germans open the tournament on Boxing Day in a 4:00 AT start vs. Finland at the Halfax Metro Centre.

Tonight’s game marks the only exhibition contest for Belaurs before the tournament opens on Boxing Day. Belarus will face Switzerland in a 2:00 AT game on the 26th from Sydney, NS. Last year Belarus defeated France in a shoot out to avoid being demoted to the Pool B Championship. Although the Belarusians bring a young lineup they are experienced in goal with Vitaly Arystau who competed in the WJC for the first time four years ago in Winnipeg.
