Team Canada Update: Dec. 20, 2000

Finally a game day for Canada's National Junior Team. Canada faced Sweden in its first exhibition game on Wednesday night at the Väsby Ishall in Väsby, Sweden.

The coaching staff knew it would be quite a challenge for Canada, as the team had only arrived a day earlier and Sweden has been training off and on since November. Canada came out on top 6-4, as Jamie Lundmark had two goals and three assists. Steve McCarthy also scored twice. Dany Heatley and Brandon Reid also scored. Canada's power play proved to be impressive, with three goals in three tries.

Canada's National Junior Team will practice on Thursday, before going for a tour of downtown Stockholm in the afternoon. Then on Friday, it's Canada's second and final exhibition game, against Sweden in Vasteras, Sweden.
