Canada now 12-0 all-time versus Switzerland

Lundmark started Canadian scoring in Sunday's game against the Swiss when he was sent in alone on goaltender Pasqual Sievert by a Dany Heatley pass. Lundmark deked one way and went the other to lift in a backhander 66 seconds into the game.

Jason Spezza made it 2-0 on a rebound on a power play at 4:10, slamming a high shot into an open net with Sievert down after making the initial save. Lundmark swept a rebound into an open net at 7:48 with goaltender Sievert out of position, and Jason Jaspers made it 4-0 at 10:00 when he jammed the puck in to end a scramble at the crease.

Only 33 seconds elapsed in the second period before it was 5-0. Sievert lost track of the puck in a scramble. When Heatley found it on his stick, with Sievert looking away from him, all he had to do was lift it into the open side of the net. In the last minute of the second period, Steve Ott took a Jarret Stoll pass from a 2-on-0 rush with Cammalleri, and Ott scored on the open side of the net at 19:33.

Coach Stan Butler gave backup goalie Alex Auld his first playing time of the tournament when he sent him out to start the third period. The Swiss scored on powerplays in the third period, and Canada countered with another power-play goal of its own, Spezza getting his second goal of the game off a rebound with 4:09 left. Ott and Helbling then exchanged goals to round out the scoring. It was the 12th meeting between the two teams in tournament history.

Canada has outscored Switzerland 81-21 (before game) in going 12-0.
