Tending the net for the home team was Tasha Sherbanuk for Team Alberta.  Performing the same duties for Team Ontario was Nicolette Franck.

The squad from Ontario got on the board early as just 14 seconds in, Vicki Sonohara’s shot found the back of the net.  Jayna Hefford and Coley Dosser picked up assists.  The team struck again 63 seconds later on a Kathy Devereaux goal from Kristie Dobbie.  With Alberta’s Trina Slivinski in the box serving a minor for roughing, Dosser picked up her second point of the series, scoring a power play marker.  Assists went to Vicky Sunohara and Jayna Hefford.  Making it 4-0 for the team from Ontario was Kathleen Kauth at the 12:53 mark with an assist to Christine Sorbara.  Final goal of the period was scored with 4:13 remaining and came off the stick of Hefford from Sunohara and Dosser.  Shots on goal favoured Team Ontario, 23 to 2.

In the second period, it was all team Ontario again as they struck for four more goals.  Alberta made a change in goal tenders to begin the period as Janelle Huls took over the duties from Sherbanuk.  At the 5:08 mark it was Karen Droog starting it off and an assist went to Coley Dosser.  With 11 seconds to the mid way mark of the game, Meredith Ostrander scored from Droog.  Making it 8-0 at the 15:53 mark was Brooke Bradburn from Droog again!  Final marker of the period came with 10 seconds left and came off the stick of Kristy Zamora with assists to Droog and Bradburn.  Team Ontario out shot Team Alberta, 12 to two.

In the final 20 minutes of play, Team Ontario added four more goals to make the final score 13-0 and a shutout for Franck.  Opening the scoring this period at 3:23 was Kristy Zamora from Brooke Bradburn.  Then at 5:27 it was Jayna Hefford from Christina Sorbara.  Goal number twelve came less than three minutes later off the stick of Kerry Welland with an assist to Vicky Sonohara.  As Huls was down, Team Ontario’s Brooke Bradburn roofed the puck on the glove side, scoring the final marker of the game.  The lone assist went to Karen Droog.  Shots on goal for Team Alberta was five for this period and 9 for the game.  Team Ontario put 16 shots on goal this period for a game total of 51.
