Team Nova Scotia won their first game of the 2003 Esso Women's National Hockey Championship with a 5-0 win over Team Newfoundland & Labrador. Kerrie Boyle's three goals led Nova Scotia to the win. Amy Handrahan and Tammi Lutz combined for 15 saves and the shutout between the pipes. With the loss, Newfoundland & Labrador falls to 0-2. Players-of-the-game were Boyle (NS) and Cheryl Brooking (NL). /Équipe Nouvelle-Écosse a remporté son premier match au Championnat national de hockey féminin Esso 2003 avec un gain de 5-0 aux dépens d’Équipe Terre-Neuve et Labrador. Les trois buts de Kerrie Boyle ont marqué cette victoire de la Nouvelle-Écosse. Amy Handrahan et Tammy Lutz ont joint leurs efforts pour 15 arrêts et le jeu blanc.
