BOEING SCORES TWICE AS SHATTUCK WINS BIG AGAINST EDGE

CALGARY, Alta. – Brett Boeing scored two goals, Marcel Godbout and Ryan Norman each picked up a goal and assist as Shattuck-St. Mary’s skated to a dominate 7-1 victory over Edge School in the Prep Division semifinals at the World Sport School Challenge on Tuesday.

Shattuck will get the chance to defend their WSSC championship, as the win advances them to the gold medal game for the second consecutive year.

Shattuck jumped out to an early 2-0 lead just five minutes on goals from Boeing and Marcel. Norman added to the Shattuck lead at the midway point of the period, a period that saw Shattuck outshoot Edge 12-3.

Boeing won a foot-race to a loose puck and managed to break free on a partial breakaway and find the back of the net to make it 4-0 and a little over seven minutes later, Truman Reed made it 5-0 with a one-timer off the post and in. Jeremy McNeil got Edge on the board with a late goal in the middle stanza, making it 5-1 Shattuck after 40 minutes.

It was more of the same in the third period, as Anthony Petrella and Alex Rodriguez added two more goals to the Shattuck lead, making it 7-1. Shattuck outshot Edge by a count of 47-21, 21 of their shots came in the second period alone.

Shattuck will face-off against the winner of Tuesday’s late semifinal game between Germany and Czech Republic in the Prep Division gold medal game on Wednesday (8:00 p.m. MT), while Edge will square-off with the losing team for the bronze medal earlier in the day (4:00 p.m. MT).
