Hockey Accomplishments

• A member of Canada’s National Women’s Team program from 1994-2006
• A defenceman on the national team through 1997, when she became a forward
• Appeared in a total of 157 games for Canada, amassing 100 points (32g,68a), winning 21 medals (17 gold, 4 silver)
• Only captain, male or female, to lead Canada to two Olympic gold medals (2002 – Salt Lake City, 2006 – Turin, Italy)
• Longest-serving captain in Canadian hockey history – captain from 2001-06
• Played in seven World Women’s Championships (1994, 1997, 1999, 2000,2001, 2004, 2005), winning six gold medals and one silver medal
• An assistant captain with Canada’s National Women’s Team from 1997-2001
• Named to 1997 WWHC All-Star Team as a defenceman
• Played from 1998-2005 in the CWHL/WWHL, with the North York Aeros, the Beatrice Aeros and the Calgary X-Treme
• Only player to win the Esso Women’s Nationals and NWHL championship in back-to-back years
• Played with the WWHL’s Calgary X-Treme, winning the inaugural WWHL Cup in 2005 in her fourth season with the club, third as team captain
• Won a gold medal with Team Alberta at the 2003 and 2001, and a silver at the 2004 Esso Women’s Nationals.
• Won a gold medal with the Beatrice Aeros (Team Ontario) at the 2000 EWN Championship and a bronze in 1999
• Named Top Forward at the 2000 Esso Nationals
• Played with Guelph University, and was named to the OWIAA 1st All-Star Team in 1996, and to the 2nd All-Star Team in 1992-1993

• Has an Honours Sociology Degree from the University of Guelph
• Treasurer on the Canadian Women’s Hockey League Board of Directors
• Runs an annual street hockey tournament in Calgary, Alta. to benefit the Ronald McDonald House
• Has worked as a colour commentator for TSN, The Score, Rogers Sportsnet and the NHL Network and did radio work for Calgary Flames games on The Fan 960 and Hockey Night in Canada radio – Was the Bell Media Olympic Consortium analyst for female hockey at the 2012 Olympic Winter Games
• Along with Hockey Hall of Famers Bobby Orr and Mike Bossy, Cassie is a spokesperson and host for Hockey Canada’s Chevrolet Safe & Fun Hockey program
• A Special Advisor to Scotiabank for it’s hockey programs and properties
• Supporter of CARE (www.care.ca), an organization that places special focus on working alongside women and girls living in poverty because, equipped with the proper resources, women and girls have the power to help whole families and entire communities escape poverty
• Joined Peter Mansbridge live on CBC for the Vancouver 2010 announcement
• Born on November 22, 1973 in Richmond Hill, Ont.

• Inducted into the Brampton Sports Hall of Fame in 1997
• March 14, 2002 was proclaimed ‘Cassie Campbell Day’ on Prince Edward Island, awarded to Cassie on Parliament Hill by Premier Pat Binns
