TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – PANTHÈRES DE SAINT-JÉRÔME
The Panthères will head into the LHJAAAQ postseason as the top seed after outlasting Collège Français de Longueuil for first place. Saint-Jérôme finished two points in front on the strength of a four-game winning streak to end the season, and an important 4-1 win over Longueuil on Feb. 20 in the final regular season meeting between the teams. The Panthères were by far the best offensive team in the LHJAAAQ, scoring 315 goals in 52 games – the lone Junior A team in Canada to reach the 300-goal plateau – while their defence was seventh best, allowing 3.73 goals per game. Joé Dubé tied for second in the league with 53 goals and was fourth with 108 points, joined in the top 10 of LHJAAAQ scoring by teammate Marc-André Levasseur, whose 103 points were good for seventh spot. Saint-Jérôme got contributions from a trio of goaltenders, with Simon Lemieux, Simon Giroux and Jonathan Duval all seeing time between the pipes – Lemieux finished third in the league with a 2.79 goals-against average, while Giroux had a team-leading 15 wins.
