TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – NEW LISKEARD CUBS
After finishing the 2013-14 season at the bottom of the Great North Midget League standings, the New Liskeard Cubs went from worst to first in 2014-15, finishing two points ahead of the Sault Ste. Marie Thunderbirds. The Cubs finished the regular season with the most goals scored (161) and fewest goals against (113) and with 200 penalty minutes less than their closest rivals. New Liskeard had seven of the league’s top 15 scorers; Nikitin Marshal led the way with 33 goals and 71 points, good for second spot in GNML. He was closely followed by teammates Justin Brazeau (67 points), Cayse Ton (63) and Gabriel Rheault (55), rounding out the GNML’s top five scorers. Tyler Mazzocato’s 2.89 goals-against average was good for second in the league, only 0.005 out of top spot.
