TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – LEDUC OIL KINGS
What a season in the Alberta Midget Hockey League. When the dust finally settled on the 35-game race to the finish line, it was the Oil Kings sitting atop the standings, but by the slimmest of margins. Leduc was just one point ahead of Lloydminster for the North Division title, and the two-time defending national champions from Red Deer also sat just a point back in the overall standings. In all, the top eight teams were separated by just six points. Leduc’s offence was just fifth-best in the league, despite having two of the AMHL’s top three scorers – Noah Gregor (first) and Curtis Miske (third) – but its defence ranked No. 2, with only Red Deer allowing fewer goals. Joey Desrosiers got the lion’s share of the work in the Leduc goal, finishing second in the league with a 1.91 goals-against average and .937 save percentage.
