Jonathan Toews visits the #CenturyTour

Presented by Canadian Tire

September 15, 2014
|

The Century Tour rolled into Toronto, Ont., for the 2014 Canadian National Exhibition, and its stop at the CNE gave thousands of hockey fans the opportunity to celebrate Hockey Canada’s 100th anniversary.

At each Century Tour stop, Hockey Canada and Canadian Tire hold a special ceremony to recognize a Canadian Tire Hero of Play, a member of the local hockey community who has made a significant contribution to the game.

For the Toronto ceremony, Canadian Tire invited a special guest – a two-time Stanley Cup champion and two-time Olympic gold medallist.

The opportunity to meet Jonathan Toews was a dream come true for some.

The experience at the CNE was an amazing one; so many Canadians came out to celebrate the national game. A big thank you goes out to everyone who came out to be a part of the Hockey Canada Century Tour, and especially to the Canadian Tire Hero of Play award recipient, Ed Wahl!

Canadian Tire is a presenting partner of the Hockey Canada Century Tour, which is celebrating 100 years by visiting 100 communities across the country. Canadian Tire has a longstanding history of supporting Canadian sport; with stores in hundreds of communities from coast to coast, it continues to help get kids and families into the game.
