Anthony Duclair added to Canada’s National Junior Team Sport Chek Selection Camp

TORONTO, Ont. - Hockey Canada announced Tuesday that forward Anthony Duclair (Laval, Que./New York Rangers, NHL) has been loaned to Canada’s National Junior Team for the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship. He will be joining the team at selection camp in Toronto on Dec. 11.

“On behalf of Hockey Canada and all Team Canada fans, I would like to thank the New York Rangers for their support of Canada’s National Junior Team,” said Scott Salmond, vice-president of hockey operations/national teams for Hockey Canada. “We expect that the team will benefit greatly from the addition of Anthony for both his skill and leadership, and we believe this will be a great experience for Anthony, as he embarks on what we expect will be long and successful professional and international playing career.” 

Duclair played twice at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, in 2011 and 2012, and won a gold medal with Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team at the 2012 Memorial of Ivan Hlinka tournament. He also attended Canada National Junior Team Sport Chek Summer Development Camp in August 2014.

On Dec. 19, Canada will face Russia in Toronto in its first of three pre-tournament games prior to the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship. Canada will also take on Sweden on Dec. 21 in Ottawa, Ont., and Switzerland on Dec. 23 in Montreal, Que., as part of the RBC Road to the World Juniors.

Canada’s final roster for the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship must be officially submitted on Dec. 25.

Canada opens the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship on Boxing Day when it faces Slovakia in Montreal. All of Canada’s games at the World Juniors will be broadcast live by TSN and RDS, the official broadcasters of Hockey Canada; check local listings for broadcast times in your area.

Tickets for the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship are still available in both host cities.

Single-game tickets are now on sale in Montreal for all 12 games at the Bell Centre, including four Team Canada preliminary round games and two-quarter-finals, starting at just $25. In addition, three mini ticket packages, including either four or five games, and all featuring at least one Team Canada game, are on sale starting at $170, plus applicable fees.

In Montreal, 13-game ticket packages include one Team Canada pre-competition game, four Team Canada preliminary round games, six other round robin games, and two quarter-finals.

In Toronto, 19-game packages include one Team Canada pre-competition game, 10 preliminary round games, two quarter-finals, two relegation round games, two semifinals, the bronze medal game and gold medal game.
