FÜSSEN, Germany – The puck drops Saturday, Jan. 3 on the 2015 Nations Cup, with Canada’s National Women’s Development Team opening the tournament against Finland at 9 a.m. ET/6 a.m. PT in Füssen.

Canada will also face Russia in preliminary round play on Jan. 4, and medal games are scheduled for Jan. 6.

The Nations Cup, formerly known as the Air Canada Cup, MLP Cup and Meco Cup, brings together Canada’s National Women’s Development Team and teams from Finland, Germany, Russia, Sweden and Switzerland for a four-day international tournament.

Canada played three pre-tournament games prior to the 2015 Nations Cup. It blanked Hungary 6-0 on Dec. 30, and Austria 2-0 on Dec. 31, both in St. Pölten, Austria, before topping Germany 5-1 on Jan. 2 in Füssen.

Canada’s National Women’s Development Team coaching staff has announced that forward Kelly Terry (Whitby, Ont./Toronto, CWHL) will serve as captain at the 2015 Nations Cup, joined by alternate captains Hayleigh Cudmore (Oakville, Ont./Calgary, CWHL) and Shannon MacAulay (Mount Herbert, P.E.I./Clarkson University, ECAC).

Canada’s National Women’s Development Team roster for the 2015 Nations Cup includes:

  • 10 players who competed for Canada’s National Women’s Development Team in a three-game series against the United States in August in Calgary, Alta. (Bach, Capizzano, Desbiens, Dubois, Dufault, Fast, Lefort,  MacAulay, Nurse, Stacey);
