Hockey Canada opens bid process for national and international events
CALGARY, Alta. – Hockey Canada announced Monday it has opened the bid process for eight national and international events to be hosted in Canada through the end of the 2015-16 season.
Any communities that have the full support of their respective hockey branch, and the hockey constituents in the community, including the facilities and resources that can accommodate the event they are bidding on, are eligible to host a Hockey Canada event.
Hockey Canada events leave behind a lasting legacy that will help grow the game of hockey for years to come.
Bid guidelines are now available for the following events:
- 2015 Esso Cup
- 2015 World Junior A Challenge
- 2015 National Women's Under-18 Championship
- 2016 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women’s World Championship
- 2016 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship
- 2016 Esso Cup
- 2016 TELUS Cup
- 2016 RBC Cup
For the two IIHF world championships, communities will be required to submit a letter of intent to bid before they will be provided the detailed bid documents. Basic information for these two events can be found by clicking above.
