SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. – Hockey Canada announced Tuesday the schedule for the 2013 RBC Cup, which will be held at CUP in Summerside from May 11-19, 2013.

The RBC Cup, Canada’s National Junior A Championship, will return to Prince Edward Island for the first time since 1997. Summerside, which also welcomed the nation in 1989, will become the first city to host the tournament three times since the host team was added in 1985. The event kicks off with two games on the schedule, including the host Summerside Western Capitals taking on the Central Region champions.

The 2013 RBC Cup will bring together four regional representatives (Central, East, West #1, West #2), along with the host Capitals, to face off for the national championship. The Capitals were 1997 RBC Cup champions as tournament hosts and will look to become the first team located east of Ontario to win two national titles.

The championship game will be broadcast on TSN/RDS, official broadcasters of Hockey Canada, on Sunday, May 19. Please check your local listings for broadcast times in your area. All other games, including the preliminary round and semifinals, will be available via webcast at hockeycanada.fasthockey.com.

The 2013 RBC Cup host committee also unveiled Monday a holiday ticket package, which is now on sale. For $139.99, the package includes a full-tournament pass for the 2013 RBC Cup, four Summerside Western Capitals game tickets, 10 50-50 Escalator tickets, an RBC Cup souvenir program, collector’s edition 2013 Summerside Western Capitals calendar and voucher for pop and popcorn at an RBC Cup game. Holiday packages can be purchased at the CUP box office, by phone at (902) 432-1234 or by clicking here.
