Chase, BC – Head Coach Brent Sutter and Director, Player Personnel Blair Mackasey announced on Sunday that defenseman Logan Stephenson of Outlook, SK will re-join Canada’s National Junior Team in Chase, BC. Stephenson was one of 12 players released from Canada’s National Junior Team on Friday Morning in Vancouver, BC after a competitive five day selection camp.

Due to injuries and some of Canada’s 22 players being sick, Canada has added Stephenson for the pre-competition portion of Canada’s preparation for the World Junior Championship.

Stephenson, a member of the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League, has 22 points in 31 games this season to lead all Tri-City defencemen.

The 2006 IIHF World Junior Championship takes place in Vancouver, Kamloops and Kelowna, BC, beginning December 26th. Canada's first game of the 2006 IIHF World Junior Championship will be on Monday, December 26th at 4pm PT / 7pm ET versus Finland.  TSN and RDS, the official broadcasters of Hockey Canada, will again carry all of Canada's games LIVE from the World Junior Championship and will be the host broadcast of the event. All of Canada’s games will also be on radio via the FAN radio network (check local listings).
Canada’s National Junior Team will continue to practice in Chase, BC on Sunday and on Monday, will travel to Kamloops, BC where they will stage their pre-competition camp.
