THUNDER BAY, ON – Sledge Hockey, which has been an associate member of Hockey Canada, was approved by Hockey Canada’s Board of Directors on Monday at its Annual General Meeting to integrate Sledge Hockey of Hockey as a full member of Hockey Canada.

“We are pleased to have Sledge Hockey as a member of Hockey Canada, “ said Allan Matthews, Chair of the Board, Hockey Canada. “We hope that Sledge Hockey’s association with our 13 member Branches will result in increased participation and registration of Sledge Hockey members. We look forward to working with them in development programs and national teams.”

“This is a historical day for Sledge Hockey and for the Paralympic movement as well, “ said Greg Lagace of Sledge Hockey of Canada. “We are extremely excited to be a member of the Hockey Canada family and thankful for the opportunity to contribute to further enhancing this great organization to ensure it remains the international leader in the development and promotion of positive hockey experiences.”
