Hockey Candidates Finalists for Seven Awards at The 2002 Canadian Sport Awards
The Spirit of Sport Foundation (SSF) officially announced its list of finalists for the 30th Annual Canadian Sport Awards (CSA) at a news conference held in Toronto. Three finalists were named for each category.
The CSA consists of five award categories - Athletic Performance, Leadership in Sport, Corporate Excellence, Spirit of Sport Story of the Year, and Spirit of Sport Inspired Youth Award.
The list of finalists has CHA teams, individuals and premier sponsors up for a total of seven Canadian Sport Awards. The Men's and Women's Olympic Hockey teams, Team Canada 2002 Executive Director Wayne Gretzky, National Women's Team Head Coach Danièle Sauvageau, CHA board president Sheldon Lanchbery, the Canadian Hockey Association, CHA premier sponsor Imperial Oil and CHA Associate Gold sponsor Molson are all finalists for the 2002 Canadian Sport Awards.
