Award Winners Announced for 2002 Esso Women's National Hockey Championship

Renfrew, ON - The 2002 Esso Women's National Hockey Championship Awards Committee announced their individual award winners during the awards banquet on Saturday evening. The presentations were made during the annual championship banquet, which was held at the Armouries Hall in Renfrew, Ontario.

The award winners for the 2002 Esso Women's National Hockey Championship are as follows:

  • Most Valuable Player - Kim St-Pierre (Quebec)

  • Most Sportsmanlike Player - Lisa-Marie Breton (Quebec)

  • Top Goaltender - Kendra Fisher (Ontario)

  • Top Defensemen - Cheryl Pounder (Ontario)

  • Top Forward - Dominique Rancour (Quebec)

  • Most Sportsmanlike Team - Nova Scotia

The 2002 Esso Women's National Hockey Championship gold medal game will take place on Sunday night and will feature Team Quebec vs. Team Ontario at 7:00pm (EST) at the Nick Smith Centre in Arnprior, Ontario. The bronze medal game will feature Team Alberta versus Team Ontario (Brampton) at 3:00pm ET in Arnprior, ON.
