CALGARY, Alta. – Wednesday, Sept. 17 marks 100 days until the start of the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship, which runs from Dec. 26, 2014 to Jan. 5, 2015 in Toronto, Ont., and Montreal, Que.

To mark the occasion, the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship host organizing committee will release additional tickets in both cities. Tickets will go on sale Wednesday at 11 a.m. ET, online only at www.hockeycanada.ca/2015juniors

In Toronto, 19-game packages include one Team Canada pre-competition game, 10 preliminary round games, two quarter-finals, two relegation round games, two semifinals, the bronze medal game and gold medal game.

In Montreal, 13-game ticket packages are still available, including one Team Canada pre-competition game, four Team Canada preliminary round games, six other round robin games, and two quarter-finals.

In addition to tickets, there will be special events planned in both cities on Wednesday.

In Montreal, the Bell Centre’s 9-4-10 restaurant will host a media availability at 11:30 a.m. ET; guests will include Montreal mayor Denis Coderre, 2015 honorary captains Marc Denis and Martin Lapointe, 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship executive director Pat McEleney, Montreal event general manager Marie-Christine Boucher, Team Canada alumni J.J. Daigneault and Clement Jodoin, and Montreal Canadiens alumnus Réjean Houle.

A VIP event will be held at Wayne Gretzky’s Toronto beginning at 6 p.m. ET. 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship honorary captains Wendel Clark and Gary Roberts, McEleney and Toronto event general manager Darryl Boynton will be in attendance, in addition to leaders from the sports and business communities in Toronto.

“It is so exciting to watch the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship take shape as more and more pieces fall into place,” said McEleney. “We can feel the anticipation building in Toronto and Montreal, and the start of the 100-day countdown is another major milestone as we approach the biggest World Juniors ever.”

Momentum is building as plans for the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship continue to evolve; the World Junior Pre-Competition Tour schedule will be finalized in early October, with an announcement regarding game locations, match-ups and a range of local community activities planned for next month. Hockey Canada will deliver a true “big game” experience in 10 communities throughout southern Ontario and Quebec.

NOTE TO MEDIA: Interviews requests for Wednesday for Boucher and Boynton should be made in advance to Francis Dupont, Hockey Canada’s manager of communications, at [email protected].
