While it will be the future of the game that will showcased on the ice when the RBC Cup comes to Dauphin,
Man., in May 2010, the City of Dauphin and the host committee of the 40th National Junior A Championship are
making sure the city’s hockey past gets a little bit of recognition as well.

Memorabilia from past seasons of Dauphin Kings hockey is now on display as part of the two new press boxes
constructed on the south side of Credit Union Place (CUP), in addition to the two press boxes already in
existence on the arena’s north side. The new press boxes have been so well-received that a fifth is currently
under construction, which will house minor hockey and figure skating memorabilia.
The concourse of CUP is now home to banners commemorating past national Junior A champions, as well as
banners recognizing the 11 teams that are part of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League, which is playing host to
the national championship for the first time since the nation’s best teams gathered in Winnipeg in 1992.
The lobby has also undergone changes, as the walls now feature photos of the seven Dauphin Kings teams to
win the Manitoba provincial championship, as well as photos of Kings alumni who went on to NHL careers,
including Butch Goring and Barry Trotz, among others.
