REGINA INTRODUCES NEW TICKET PACKAGES FOR
2010 IIHF WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

REGINA, Sask. – The Regina host organizing committee of the IIHF 2010 World Junior Championship has unveiled several new ticket packages for fans of the IIHF World Junior Championship, which is being held in the Queen City in this December.

Beginning Thursday, October 8, World Junior fans will be able to choose from two new ticket packages each featuring six world-class games at the Brandt Centre. The highlight of each of the two individual six-game packs is a pre-competition game featuring Canada’s National Junior Team.

“We are very pleased to offer world junior hockey fans in southern Saskatchewan and around the province yet another great opportunity to see the best junior hockey players in the world,” says Al Ford, assistant general manager with the Regina host organizing committee. “These ticket packages continue to make it affordable for fans to take in these world class games. But we’ve now also added more flexibility for those who are unable to take advantage of our full 12-game ticket package.”

“With less than 90 days before the opening games at the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship, we are on target as far as our overall business plan,” says Scott Smith, Hockey Canada’s COO.  “The introduction of these new ticket packages in both markets will help to get us over the top and create a great atmosphere for the players participating in the championship.  Hockey fans now have more affordable and flexible options in which to be part of the World Junior experience and we expect these packages to move quickly.”

The six-game packs, which start at $125 plus applicable fees, feature the following games in Regina:

Pack A - Regina
December 20 Canada vs. Sweden
December 26 Russia vs. Austria
December 26 Czech Republic vs. Sweden
December 27 Austria vs. Sweden
December 27 Czech Republic vs. Finland
December 28 Finland vs. Russia

Pack B - Regina
December 23 Canada vs. Czech Republic
December 29 Austria vs. Czech Republic
December 29 Sweden vs. Russia
December 30 Finland vs. Austria
December 31 Russia vs. Czech Republic
December 31 Sweden vs. Finland

The Regina host committee has also introduced value seating pricing for a full 12-game ticket package. For as low as $235, plus applicable fees, fans of the World Juniors can see all 12 games at the Brandt Centre.

“We have had a good response on full ticket packages to date, which still offer the best value for your seat per game,” says Ford. “While there are still good seats available, those wanting to attend the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship will definitely want to act quickly with the introduction of these affordable and flexible packages.”

Meanwhile, new five-game ticket packages for the round-robin portion of the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship at Saskatoon’s Credit Union Centre have also been introduced. Packages start at $199 and feature the following games:

Pack A - Saskatoon
December 27 United States vs. Switzerland
December 29 Latvia vs. United States
December 30 Switzerland vs. Latvia
December 31 Switzerland vs. Slovakia
December 31 United States vs. Canada

Pack B - Saskatoon

December 26 Slovakia vs. United States
December 27 Slovakia vs. Latvia
December 28 Canada vs. Switzerland
December29 Canada vs. Slovakia

As well, separate ticket prices for the medal and relegation round package at the Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon are also now available. The package, starting at $499, consists of 11 games starting January 2, ending with the gold medal game on January 5.

All ticket packages go on sale beginning 10 a.m. on October 8. Tickets for the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship may be purchased in person at any Ticketmaster outlet, online at www.ticketmaster.ca, or by calling Ticketmaster by phone at 1-800-970-7328.
