PLAYER PROFILE

Disability: Was born with sacral agenesis, a malformation of the spine affecting the tailbone (otherwise known as the sacrum) that affects fetal development of the legs, knees and feet. Affecting one in every 25,000 births, sacral agenesis has degrees of severity ranging from partial malformation to full absence of the sacrum.

According to Jean Labonté: “In sledge hockey, there is one player that can pull the fans out of their seat like Denis Savard used to do, and it's Bowden. One-on-one, he's a defenceman’s worst nightmare.”
