Ryan Ellis, Simon Després, Taylor Hall, Carter Ashton, Brayden Schenn and Ryan O’Reilly
scored goals as Canada claimed the gold medal at the 2008 Memorial of Ivan Hlinka tournament for the fourth
time in five years with a 6-3 win over Russia in Saturday’s gold medal game in Piestany, Slovakia. Canada
outscored its opponents 24-10 and outshot them 177-69 over its four games.

Brayden Schenn scored once and added two assists and Ryan Ellis pitched in with four assists
of his own as Canada clinched a spot in the gold medal game at the 2008 Memorial of Ivan Hlinka tournament
with a 9-1 romp over Slovakia on Thursday.

Canada moved to 2-0 in the preliminary round and gained a measure of revenge with a 4-3 win
over Sweden on Wednesday at the 2008 Memorial of Ivan Hlinka tournament. Taylor Hall, Casey Cizikas, Cody
Eakin and Garett Mitchell scored for Canada.

Canada scored three powerplay goals on seven chances to erase an early deficit and score a
5-3 win over Switzerland in the opening game of the 2008 Memorial of Ivan Hlinka tournament on Tuesday. Five
different players scored goals for the Canadians.

apiece as Canada wrapped up a perfect pre-tournament schedule with a 4-2 win over the tournament co-hosts
from the Czech Republic on Sunday in Breclav.

Taylor Hall scored twice in the final 69 seconds, including the game-winning goal, completing
his hat trick and leading Canada to a 6-4 win over the United States in a pre-tournament game on Sunday. Hall

Ryan Howse scored the game-winning goal midway through the second period as Team White scored
five unanswered goals in just over 22 minutes on its way to a 5-3 win over Team Red in the final intersquad
game on Tuesday afternoon.

Landon Ferraro scored the game-tying goal with just over seven minutes to go for Team Red as it salvaged a
2-2 tie with Team White on Monday night in the second of three intersquad games. Jimmy Bubnick also scored
for Red, who was outshot 33-22.

Taylor Hall scored the game-winning goal early in the second period and goaltenders Nathan Lieuwen and
Olivier Bellavance-Roy combined for a 24-save shutout as Team White drew first blood with a 2-0 win. Brayden
McNabb scored into an empty net in the dying seconds of the third period to clinch the victory.
