CALGARY, AB – Hockey Canada, in partnership with Egg Farmers of Canada (EFC), has announced the winners of
this season’s EGGstreme Hockey Power Packs. More than 100 tournaments have been chosen to receive the packs,
which are loaded with Get Cracking® Hockey Canada-branded prizes for players, fans and tournament
organizers.
Each EGGstreme Hockey Power Pack includes:
pucks for tournament play
toques for tournament champions
caps for tournament volunteers
EGGstreme Hockey pennants to help decorate the registration and in-arena areas
an official Hockey Canada national team jersey for prizing or fundraising
a roll of Hockey Canada Get Cracking® hockey tape for participating players
prizes for parents and fans
In addition, Esso, one of Hockey Canada’s premier sponsors, has announced it is including 1,500 sets of
Esso Medals of Achievement into the packages sent to the winning tournaments.
"Esso has been a proud supporter of Hockey Canada and minor hockey for nearly 25 years. Throughout
that time, the Esso Medals and Certificates of Achievement program has been a cornerstone of our philosophy
of supporting minor hockey development and recognizing young hockey players,” says Karen Fraser, marketing
sponsorship manager for Esso. "That's why we're pleased to be joining with fellow Hockey Canada sponsor, Egg
Farmers of Canada, in supporting the EGGStreme Hockey Power Pack program, a program that not only helps to
support organizers of over 80 minor hockey tournaments across the country but also recognizes player
participation."
“The response to the EGGstreme Hockey program has been extraordinary,” says Tim Lambert, CEO of Egg
Farmers of Canada. “We would like to thank Hockey Canada for its continued support of the program and Esso
for its unwavering commitment to minor hockey. Canada’s egg farmers are proud to support local tournaments
and the EGGstreme Hockey Power Packs are a great way for hockey families to learn more about the healthy,
lasting energy in eggs.”
The 2008-09 season is the second for the EGGstreme Hockey Power Pack program. Last year, more than 50
tournaments received the packages thanks to EFC and Hockey Canada.
EFC represents farmers producing eggs on Canada’s 1,045 regulated egg farms located in each province and
the Northwest Territories. EFC is dedicated to providing fresh, nutritious, and high-quality eggs at
reasonable prices to all Canadians.
