CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI – Canada’s National Sledge Team will face Norway in Saturday’s gold medal final at the
2008 World Sledge Hockey Challenge, a game that can be seen live via webcast at www.hockeycanada.ca.
The final will be a rematch of Wednesday’s game between the two teams, which Canada won 2-0. Canada
finished the round-robin at 3-0 after defeating Japan 7-1 on Thursday night at the CARI Complex. Greg
Westlake (Oakville, ON) had two goals and two assists to lead the way for Canada.
Norway earned its spot into the gold medal game by defeating the United States 3-2 on Thursday. Norway led
3-0 after two periods before the United States came on strong in the third.
Canada and Norway are strong rivals in sledge hockey, having met in the final of the last three major
sledge events. Canada defeated Norway at the 2008 IPC Sledge Hockey World Championship, 2007 World Sledge
Hockey Challenge and 2006 Paralympic Winter Games.
