The host organizing committee of the 2008 RBC Cup is pleased to announce that Stanley Cup-winning coach
Marc Crawford will be the guest speaker for this year’s RBC Cup Banquet.
“I am pleased to be a part of the 2008 RBC Cup,” said Crawford. “I know that Cornwall will do a great job
as host community and will show all of Canada what wonderful hockey fans live in the community.”
Crawford, who was a member of the Memorial Cup-winning
Cornwall Royals in 1980 and 1981 – captaining the 1981 team – and the head coach of the Royals from 1989-91,
stressed the importance of fan support for the players.
“Some of the best memories I have are from my Junior hockey days in Cornwall, and the support we got from
the fans is a big part of that.”
“It speaks about the high quality of talent that will be here to have a guest speaker like a former NHL
coach of the year and Stanley Cup winner like Marc Crawford,” said Candy Pollard, chair of the host committee
for the 2008 RBC Cup.
The 2008 RBC Cup Banquet takes place on the evening of Friday, May 9th in the Salons of the Civic Complex.
Tickets are $50 each and are available at the Cornwall Civic Complex box office.
