The City of Cornwall is less than two months away from playing host to the largest tournament its
residents have ever seen – the 2008 RBC Cup.
The economic impact of the National Junior A Championship will be significant for the Cornwall area, with
an estimated 2,000 visitors expected from across the country during the nine-day tournament, May 3rd to
11th.
Based on information from the 2007 RBC Cup in Prince George, BC, the average visitor spent close to $600
during their visit, which translates to approximately $1.2 million for the Cornwall economy, and that doesn’t
include the thousands of fans from Cornwall and the surrounding area that will be a part of the
championship.
