CALGARY – In conjunction with the announcement of Canada’s National Junior Team selection camp roster on
Monday, December 3rd, Hockey Canada has announced it will be auctioning off the black jerseys Canada’s
National Junior Team worn during the Canada/Russia Super Series. The jerseys were worn only once, for Game 7
on September 7th in Red Deer, AB.

Beginning December 3rd, hockey fans across Canada and around the world will have the opportunity to bid on
the game-worn jerseys at www.hockeycanada.ca and www.ebay.ca. The
auction will run for 10 days, closing on December 12th, just days before Canada names its roster for the 2008
IIHF World Junior Championship, to be held in Pardubice and Liberec, Czech Republic from December 26, 2007 to
January 5, 2008.
These eBay items are one of a kind and game worn by Team Canada’s players, and all items come with a
letter of authenticity from Hockey Canada.
In addition to the game-worn jerseys, Hockey Canada will also be auctioning off a 1972-style jersey signed
by every member of Canada’s team from the Canada/Russia Super Series. Canada wore the 1972-style just once,
in Game 5 in Winnipeg on September 4th, the first time that jersey had been worn since the historic 1972
Summit Series. Canada won the Super Series with a 7-0-1 record.
Net proceeds raised through this Canada/Russia Super Series auction go to Hockey Canada, to assist with
the funding of national development programs, national teams and Hockey Canada initiatives that promote the
sport at the grassroots level.
