PACIFIC 1 – ONTARIO 5
GOLD MEDAL | SUN. JAN. 4

Jeff Skinner’s early second period goal stood up as the game winner as Ontario claimed gold for the second year in a row, and the seventh time overall, defeating Pacific 5-1 in Sunday’s final game at the Alberni Valley Multiplex. Tyler Seguin, John McFarland, Steven Shipley and Erik Gudbranson also scored for Ontario, which became the first time since the United States in 2002 to successfully defend its gold medal.

 

WEST 2 – UNITED STATES 4
BRONZE MEDAL | SUN. JAN. 4

Jacob Fallon scored a hat trick and Shane Sooth added three assists as the United States won bronze with a victory over West. It is the fifth time in the last seven U17 tournaments that the Americans have taken home a medal.

DAY 6 RESULTS  - SAT. JAN. 3

PACIFIC 6 - UNITED STATES 5 (OT) | SEMIFINAL
Alex Petrovic’s second goal of the game 5:35 into overtime was the difference as Pacific advanced to its first gold medal game since 2005 with a win over the U.S.

ONTARIO 7 – WEST 4 | SEMIFINAL
Tyler Toffoli and Erik Gudbranson each scored twice and added an assist as Ontario earned a chance to defend its gold medal with a semifinal win over West.

GERMANY 1 – QUEBEC 3 | 5TH PLACE
Pierre-Karl Marion’s first goal of the tournament late in the second period was the winner as Quebec grabbed fifth place with a victory over a tough German side.

RUSSIA 6 – SLOVAKIA 3 | 7TH PLACE
Artem Gareev, Vladislav Namestnikov and Roman Berdnikov scored in the opening seven minutes as Russia took home seventh with a win over the Slovaks.

FINLAND 6 – ATLANTIC 9 | 9TH PLACE
Sean Couturier finished with three goals and two assists as Ben Duffy had four points of his own as Atlantic finished in ninth place after a victory over Finland.
