CALGARY, AB – Hockey Canada, along with Team Canada general manager Steve Yzerman, announced today
the addition of one player to Canada’s official World Championship roster, as well as seven players that will
assist with the preparations during Canada’s pre-competition camp in Finland prior to the start of the World
Championship.
The 2007 IIHF World Hockey Championship will run
from April 27-May 13, 2007 in Moscow, Russia.
With the first round of the NHL playoffs expected to end over the next week, Yzerman and the rest of
Canada’s management and coaching staff, including Head Coach Andy Murray, will be adding players to complete
Canada’s roster as NHL teams are eliminated from the playoffs.
One player has been added to Canada’s World Championship roster:
Forward – Jay McClement – Kingston, ON – St. Louis Blues (NHL)
With today’s announcement of the addition of McClement, Canada’s roster now includes a total of 13
players, including eight forwards, three defencemen and two goaltenders.

To assist with Canada’s preparations prior to the start of the World Championship, Yzerman also announced
that seven National Team players (six that played this season with Canada’s National Men’s Team and one
player from Canada’s National Junior Team) will be joining Canada in Finland from April 23-26 for its
pre-competition camp and preparations. These players will assist Team Canada with its preparations, including
an exhibition game against Finland on April 24th, prior to naming additional NHL players that get eliminated
from the NHL playoffs this week.

Forward – Martin Kariya – Vancouver, BC – Espoo Blues (FIN)
Forward – Stacy Roest – Lethbridge, AB – Rapperswilll-Jona (SUI)
Forward – Jonathan Toews – Winnipeg, MB – University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux (WCHA)
Canada opens the 2007 IIHF World Men’s Hockey Championship on April 28 against Germany. All of Canada’s
games at the event will be broadcast live by TSN/RDS, the official broadcaster of Hockey Canada.
