CALGARY – Canada’s National Men’s Sledge Hockey Team will travel to Park City, Utah from February 16-18
for a three-game series against the USA, the second half of a home-and-home series. Canada swept the front
end of the series, outscoring the Americans 8-2 over the three games in London and Aylmer, ON in late
January.
The three games this week will be the last for both teams before the inaugural World Sledge Hockey
Challenge, to be held in Kelowna, BC from March 12-17. National teams from Germany and Norway will join the

The Canadians have fashioned a 7-1-1 record so far in the 2006-07 season, including two wins and a tie
over the Germans and two wins and a loss against the Norwegians during a European trip in November to go
along with their three-game sweep of the Americans.

Sledge hockey is the Paralympic version of hockey and, since its debut on the Paralympic program at the
1994 Lillehammer Paralympic Winter Games, it has become one of the biggest attractions for spectators at the
Paralympic Winter Games. It is fast-paced, highly physical and played by male athletes with a physical
disability in the lower part of the body. Canada captured its first-ever sledge hockey gold medal at the 2006
Paralympic Winter Games, defeating Norway, the defending world champions, 3-0 in the final game.
