ELEVEN PLAYERS RELEASED FROM CANADA’S NATIONAL JUNIOR TEAM SELECTION CAMP

CALGARY, AB – Hockey Canada, in collaboration with the Canadian Hockey League, announced 2006, that 11 players were released on Thursday from Canada’s 2007 National Junior Team Selection Camp being held in Calgary.   The following eleven players will all be returned to their respective club teams.

Canada’s 2007 National Junior Team Selection Camp now features 28 players, including four (4) goaltenders, nine (9) defencemen and 15 forwards.

Hockey Canada will announce the National Junior Team roster of 22 players tomorrow, Friday, December 15th, 2006.

Canada’s National Junior Team Selection Camp continues on December 14th with one final game, which will feature the remaining players vying for a position on the final roster vs. a team of CIS All-Stars at the Father David Bauer Olympic Arena in Calgary. The game will start at 5 pm (Mountain Time).  Tickets are available at the door.   Click here for the National Junior Team Selection Camp Schedule.

The team will compete at the 2007 IIHF World Junior Championship from December 26th, 2006 to January 5th, 2007 in Leksand and Mora, Sweden.  Canada will play its first game of the 2007 World Juniors on Boxing Day, December 26th, versus Sweden at 1:00pm ET (7:00pm local), which will be broadcast LIVE by TSN/RDS and on the FAN radio network (check local listings).
